Born on a rain-soaked night, it now kindles friendships in a hush, like a secret told to the windowpane.

Part of the collection Glass Jar Lamps

This little lamp began life as a forgotten glass jar in an old stone house, the kind that creaks as if it were keeping a hundred years of naps tucked away. That night the rain was coming down hard, and the friendship fairies slipped inside looking for shelter, soaked through and giggling, because we've always thought running from two drops of rain is pretty flimsy human comedy. There, among dust, shadow, and the smell of wet earth, sat the jar, still and patient, waiting for its second trip around the world.

We took it with us to Taramundi and lifted the tiredness off it without wiping away its past. The glass kept that transparent memory, the kind that doesn't shine to show off, but because it's seen things. We dressed the lid with a little branch and lichen gathered from the forest, small wild things with elegant manners, and inside we left two fairy friends sketched in luminous silence.

  • rescued glass with a little attic soul
  • a little branch and lichen with the forest still clinging on
  • two silhouettes that seem to talk without a sound

Now, when night falls, it doesn't throw light around. It does something better. It lets out a warm calm, all chipped mug and blanket tucked just right, and turns any corner into a lovely hideaway where the heart can rest for a while.
