When the forest breathes fog and humans walk a little oddly because they think no one’s watching, this creature slips away with its yellow hat, like a sunflower itching for adventure. It’s about 20 cm tall, but it feels enormous when it pads barefoot over moss and listens to rain tapping on old tin cans.
It’s mad about anything that sparkles, but not to show off. More out of curiosity, like a nosy magpie. One day it found in the soil a shiny bit it swears was the lid of an old sugar bowl, and ever since it carries it in its hand, as if it were a tamed star.
- Stashes old buttons in secret hideouts among twigs
- Greets statues, just in case they climb down at night
- Uses chipped cups so the tea tastes like the truth
If you catch it smiling, it’s not a pose: it’s remembering the sound of a button rolling across the floor, like a tiny laugh that refuses to be caught.
