Street voices
"Yerp takes the slang word yes sir one step further. It essentially means yes, but with a little more flavor. Yo, we put on a great show last night. The crowd loved us. Yerp, it was a great turnout."
What it means
A punchier, more flavoured spin on yessir, used to say yes with extra bounce, swagger or approval. It is less stiff than a plain yeah and carries that little bit of sauce people throw on a reply when the mood is up and the answer is fully locked in. Feels like agreement wearing fresh trainers and grinning.
Usage examples
"Yo, the venue was packed, the sound was fire, and they already asked us back next month. Yurp, last night was a whole movie."
"Yurp, the new album drops Friday and they are doing a surprise show at the venue on Camden High Street, I have already booked the train down from Manchester."
"She asked if I had paid the rent and the council tax this month, yurp, both done on Monday morning, even the gym membership got the cheeky direct debit on time for once."
