What it means
Proper tasty, the kind of sweet or roast you keep picking at even when you’re full. Scrummy is a cute, slightly kiddy way to say scrumptious, but grown-ups use it too when something’s genuinely top-tier. Pops up loads around cakes, biscuits and anything that goes nicely with a cuppa. Sounds cosy and harmless, but the appetite is serious.
Usage examples
"This Victoria sponge is scrummy, I’ve had two slices already. Nana’s like, go on then love, kettle’s on, and I’m reaching for a third."
"Nan's apple crumble is absolutely scrummy, I had three helpings and took the last bit home."
"Those little cheese scones at the cafe are dead scrummy, we ended up buying half a dozen for later."
