Street voices
"respectfully it's um basically used right before you're gonna say something rude or mean in a way basically softens the blow a little bit an example would be respectfully um your outfit kind of sucks"
What it means
Used right before a blunt opinion, roast, or bit of side eye, pretending to soften the hit while everyone knows the hit is still coming. That is the joke. Online and in real life, it lets you say something harsh with fake manners on top, like rude wearing a tiny bow tie.
Usage examples
"Respectfully, if you wear flip flops to a fancy dinner again, we're sitting at another table and letting you explain yourself."
