"Stunting means to be fly, cool, or stylish. It is an extension of the word stunt, which means an action displaying spectacular skill. For example, hey, did you see MC Air at the rap show last night? He was stunting."

What it means

Means showing up looking fly, stylish, or impressively on point, usually with a bit of swagger and zero apology. It grew out of stunt, the idea of pulling off something flashy or skillful, then slid into everyday slang for someone dressing sharp or moving with bold confidence. If you're stunting, you're not blending in, you're making the room notice.

Usage examples

"Did you see Malik roll into the rap show in chrome shades and a white mink? Man was stunting so hard even the DJ clocked him."
"He rolled into the reunion in a tailored white suit and gold rings, stunting so hard that everyone forgot to ask about his job."

Where it comes from

Grew from stunt, the flashy feat pulled off to make people look. Hip-hop turned it into showing off your style and shine, so to be stunting is to step out built for attention.

Voices of the people

Theory is all well and good... but what we Magikitos really love is hearing humans in their natural flow. That's why we collect voice notes that people send us on WhatsApp, recording themselves using the expression with a real, street-level example!
