What it means
Used when someone keeps going on about something for ages, usually in a way that does your head in. If they’re banging on, they’re repeating the same point, story, or complaint like a stuck record. Often shows up as banging on about X. Not rude-rude, but it’s definitely the sound of your patience leaving the room.
