What it means

Scottish way of saying something is absolutely vile, like it’s turned your stomach and you can still smell it on your hoodie. Gets used for dodgy scran, manky smells, filthy loos, even a clammy bus seat. Often written boggin' or bogging, and you’ll hear it with boosters like pure or actual. Nae danger you’re eating that.

Usage examples

"I opened the fridge and that leftover fish hit me. Pure boggin', pal, shut the door and chuck it before the whole flat stinks."
"These trainers are pure boggin after the festival, I'm not sure even the bin wants them."
"The changing rooms were boggin, so we got dressed in record time and legged it."

Voices of the people

Theory is all well and good... but what we Magikitos really love is hearing humans in their natural flow. That's why we collect voice notes that people send us on WhatsApp, recording themselves using the expression with a real, street-level example!
