What it means
Means something is absolutely disgusting or foul, usually from smell, taste, or general mankiness. It’s the word you chuck out when the bin juice has gone rogue or a kebab’s turned on you. Not posh, not subtle, just straight to the gag reflex. Often said with a grimace, like you’ve licked a radiator.
Usage examples
"I opened the fridge and got hit with that smell, man. That chicken’s rank, pet, sling it in the bin before it kills us."
"The milk had turned and the smell from the fridge was absolutely rank by Monday morning."
"He reheated fish in the office microwave again and the whole floor went rank for an hour."
