"A canon event is, you know, like an important life moment that happened to you or happened to someone else. They'll basically be their canon event. Maybe it could, you know, change something, you know, for the rest of the course of their life, etc. An example would be, failing math was a canon event."

What it means

A canon event is one of those unavoidable, slightly cringe rites of passage you simply have to go through to become who you are, no skipping allowed. Watching a friend stumble into one, you just let it happen.

"I could not warn her, it was a canon event."
