What it means
FYP stands for For You Page, the main feed that keeps serving you videos the app reckons you will obsess over. It started with TikTok but loads of people now throw it around for Instagram and other feeds too. When someone says their FYP is cursed, chaotic, or weirdly accurate, they mean the algorithm has gone feral again.

Where it comes from
Short for For You Page, the name TikTok gave its main recommendation feed. As the app exploded, the abbreviation escaped into everyday online talk and now gets used for algorithm driven feeds more broadly, even outside TikTok itself.
