What it means
Completely drunk, the kind of state where walking straight feels like a boss level and your chat is pure waffle. If you’re plastered you’re swaying, spilling your pint, and making bold life decisions like treating a greasy kebab as nutrition. Big UK night-out word for when just one turns into a dozen and the taxi home feels like a heroic quest.
Usage examples
"At the office do she got plastered, tried flirting with the photocopier, then asked Dave from Accounts where the loo was, cradling a plant."
"He got absolutely plastered at the reception and fell asleep under the cake table."
Where it comes from
Plaster sets hard and stiff, and that is more or less how your faculties end up after one too many. To be plastered is to be set rigid with drink, so far gone that the legs and the tongue both quit cooperating at once.
