What it means
Means very drunk, but said with a wink rather than a warning label. It’s the kind of word you use when you were a bit of a state and can laugh about it the next day. It also nicely suggests the booze sloshing around inside you. Usually softer than hammered or smashed, and perfect for pub chat and wedding tales.
Usage examples
"By the time the best man hit his third supposedly short speech, Uncle Gaz was sloshed, hugging strangers, calling the DJ a legend, and nicking sausage rolls."
"By the end of the toast everyone was a bit sloshed and the speeches got a lot more heartfelt."
"She got pleasantly sloshed at the reunion and finally told that story she always holds back."
